I think I have one of the best volunteering "jobs" I could hope for. I get to meet all the dogs that come into Windy City Canine Rescue and spend about 30 minutes with them - getting to know them and taking their pictures. I get to meet all these amazing dogs with their different and fun personalities. Some of them are hard to walk away from - even after just 30 minutes. Although when your house is full, it's definitely something you consider less.
When I got home from photographing Banner and started working on his website write up, I couldn't believe his intake information said he was only 6 months old. What a mature young man! There were no wild puppy antics, no uncontrollable running. He was just perfectly chill. He seemed like what I would call a "bomb proof" dog. He had no problems with Marlin and I scooping him up and putting him the car. No problems with us taking toys away from him. No problems with seeing other people and dogs in the park. He might be a little mellow for some people's taste, but he still liked to play and walk and was pretty much game for anything we suggested. I was sure though if left to his own devises he would eventually just lay down and relax.
I doubt this guy will be with rescue for long. It's not every day you meet a dog like this.
